About

This is my personal website and blog. Here you will find articles, devotionals, book reviews, and suggested resources for topics ranging from Culture to Missions, to Youth Ministry and Gospel-Centered Ministry in general. The desire of this website is simply to encourage and edify those willing to read, and to share my personal findings and convictions from Scripture.

Bio

I am currently the Associate Pastor at FirstSF in San Francisco, CA, where I’ve been serving since 2021. I received my B.A. in East Asian Studies from UC Irvine, my M.Div from Talbot School of Theology, and a Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss) from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.

Being half-Korean, my primary ministry setting has been in the Asian-American church, serving in a variety of pastoral capacities at a variety of different Asian churches. Growing up bi-racial, studying and understanding culture—especially as it relates to our expressions of faith—has been a life-long interest of mine. As a result, much of my theological reflection, study of Scripture, and writing comes from a multi-ethnic mindset. My research emphases in missiology are also heavily influenced by my upbringing and life experience with race, culture, and the American/Asian-American Church.
