If God gave me the perfect home, I would have no need for my eternal home in heaven.
If God gave me the perfect church, I wouldn’t long for the perfect fellowship awaiting with the saints.
If God made me the perfect pastor, my church would have no need for the perfect Shepherd, and I would have no need for His perfect shepherding.
If God gave me the perfect relationship, I wouldn’t see my need for a relationship with Jesus.
If God gave me the perfect marriage, I wouldn’t long for the consummation of Christ’s marriage to His Church.
If God gave me the perfect parents, I would see no need for a perfect Heavenly Father.
If God made me the perfect person, I would have no need for the Savior who was perfect on my behalf.
If God gave me the perfect life, I would love my earthly life more than I love the God who gives eternal life.
